One day, our team leader told us that the youth pastor of the church we were working with had seen our drama, Clincher, and wanted us to perform it at a youth retreat. So, after we finished the kids camp one evening, we put our game face on and prepared our hearts for more ministry. While we were in the bus heading to the youth retreat, we prayed and interceded our hearts out, asking God to strengthen us and to touch those kids' lives. When we arrived at the retreat center we expected to just go in, do Clincher, and then leave. It was 10pm, and we were exhausted. However, God always has a way of changing our plans.
After we finished the drama, we looked up and saw many of the youth on their knees, crying out to God. So we began to pray for them and minister to them. I noticed one boy who was sobbing, so I went over to pray for him, and I had my Korean teammate come translate for me and pray for him, too. I don't know exactly what God was doing in that boy's heart, but it must have been a deep work. I realized then, that even though my team and I were exhausted, because we simply made ourselves available to God, He used us to share His love with others. That's all He ever asks us to do. |
