Islam On Capitol Hill — A Theology Adjustment |

Yes, I did go to DC around the time of the "Islam on Capitol Hill" event on September 25th, but I did not feel I was to post the trip with my intercessors because God was saying it was no big deal and I wasn't to be stirring up unnecessary concern. I actually didn't believe Him and thought I wasn't to post it to my prayer team because I needed to be “under the radar.” When I got there I spent Wednesday and Thursday praying up and down the Mall. I was very suspicious as I prayed. Big, beautiful tents were going up with a teen section and a children's section and I thought, "Wow, they are really organized." When I would ask people what was going on, no one knew and I conjectured, "Oh, they are trying to be incognito. Very sneaky."
I was praying Ezekiel from The Message translation and it talked of Israel being a whore and her sluttish ways. I thought, "This sounds more like Muslims talking about America than it sounds like God." I could barely read aloud as I didn't want passersby to hear the judgmental words. But soon I lost my embarrassment and proudly read the truth of God's word. God does not need me to help Him look good. I felt the whisper of the Lord in my heart say, "God's problem in America is not the Muslims."

The pro-abortion people have one thing right. God is pro-choice. All throughout scripture, God is calling to us to love Him. He has called us by His name, but He allows us to choose whether we will respond to His love. He is kind and compassionate and only wants a bride who wants to be with Him. He loves us and is so crazy about us that He carves our name in His hand. He sings and shouts over us. He hopes and believes in us that we will choose to want to be with Him.
The pro-abortion movement has re-defined words like “choice, compassion, and tolerance.” These words represent the nature and character of God who created the myriad of cultures and their diversity; where no two human beings have ever been alike since the beginning of time.

I saw a bumper sticker the other day that said, “I’ll take my gay marriage and you can have your divorce.”
One can learn a lot through listening. The bumper sticker reminded me of a sermon I heard in a conservative church after the state of Massachusetts passed the law allowing homosexuals to marry. The pastor preached that homosexuality is not the greatest threat to the institution of marriage. We sat stunned. What could be worse than homosexuality? Then he dropped the bomb: Divorce is the greatest threat. Oh my! He stated that homosexual marriage is only a symptom and that divorce is the threat. The prim and proper congregation began fidgeting. Rustling filled the church as if the service was over. The pastor went on to say God does not hate the homosexual but He does hate divorce. |
