Whoever expects to meet their future spouse halfway around the world? Well, Josh and Marsha Langer never did, but that’s exactly what happened. Josh is from Germany, and he came to YWAM Tyler to do his DTS in 2002. Marsha, who is from Ohio, was in the same school. They began dating at the end of their second level school, School of Evangelism. Marsha then returned home to finish university, and Josh joined the YWAM Tyler staff in 2003.
(MARSHA) For two years we continued dating and living far away from each other in Texas and Ohio. While it was really difficult, it was the best thing for us. Josh was able to focus on his ministry and become the worship leader at YWAM Tyler, and I was able to continue building the foundation DTS and SOE had begun. I served my family and loved on them while working on my English degree. Getting my education has been a helpful tool I use every day. After getting married and joining staff in 2005, Marsha began working in the Communications Department as an editor. For the last two years she has taught in the English as a Second Language school, too. She and Josh also worked with the training schools as small group leaders. Combining Josh’s love of worship and their call to disciple, they pioneered the first School of Worship at YWAM Tyler in 2006. Since then Josh and Marsha have led several outreaches both to Germany and to South Korea. (JOSH) The last several years have been a wild ride. I was blessed and surprised at the same time to see how God opened incredible doors in the land of my birth. After leading four consecutive outreaches to Germany, we have now started to disciple a nation. I never thought that I would ever have a heart for Asia, but the last two trips to South Korea have imprinted our hearts deeply. Marsha and I are honored to advance even some of the visions God has given to our leadership regarding Asia. Josh also has the opportunity to minister in the US and internationally as a speaker in YWAM training schools, and has been involved in YWAM Tyler’s annual youth event, Take Action. For the last six years he has led worship for the event, and has been a part of ushering thousands of young people into the life-changing presence of the Lord. Our deepest heart’s desire is to disciple and to inspire young people. We are humbled by the reality that through us being a part of YWAM Tyler, God has given us a platform to truly train and lead people into a mature and intimate relationship with their Creator, and to multiply the message of truth into the nations.
