If you have finished your DTS and don’t know where you belong, yet still feel called to missions, Mission Trade School is a great opportunity. The skills learned will not only help you but they’ll enable you to help others. This program is designed to equip you with vital skills to use in overseas and community development ministry settings.
During the first three months we will teach you the basics of 45 different trades, from electrical, small engine repair, and furniture building, to sheet rocking, painting, and brick laying. This classroom phase will entail two hours a day of Bible study and devotions, with the rest of the time dedicated to hands-on learning of the various trades. Throughout this time you will practice your newly-learned skills by doing several community development work projects.
The practical application of the trades to community development will continue in the two-month outreach phase. We will be working on several renovation and construction projects at one of YWAM Tyler’s satellite location in Houston, Texas, and in Guadalajara, Mexico.
